Detained journalists transferred to courthouse in Ankara

17 people, including Dicle Fırat Journalists’ Association Co-chair Dicle Müftüoğlu and journalist Sedat Yılmaz, were taken into custody on May 29 as part of an investigation launched in Ankara.

News Center- On May 29, Turkish police raided many houses in 15 cities as part of an investigation launched in Ankara and detained 17 people, including Dicle Fırat Journalists’ Association Co-chair Dicle Müftüoğlu and Mesopotamia Agency (MA) editor Sedat Yılmaz. According to the received reports, the detained people have been transferred to the Ankara Courthouse after being questioned at the police station.

While 17 people are kept waiting for the start of the legal process at the prosecutor's office, many police officers have been dispatched to the courthouse.
