Nine people were killed and 11 others injured in Pakistani airstrikes targeting residential areas in Kunar and Helmand provinces, amid escalating military and security tensions on the shared border.

NEWSCENTER – Border tensions between Kabul and Islamabad are escalating following the renewal of violent military clashes along the Durand Line, amid mutual accusations of launching drone attacks and airstrikes, threatening a complete collapse of the fragile security and diplomatic understandings between the two neighbors.

The spokesman for the Taliban movement stated today, Thursday, the first of October, that Pakistani attacks targeted residential areas in Kunar and Helmand provinces, resulting in the killing of nine civilians, including women and children, the injury of 11 others, and the destruction of three homes. The movement's spokesman condemned the raids, describing them as a "crime" and "aggression," and a violation of all international principles.

The Afghan-Pakistani border is witnessing escalating military tension that has resulted in repeated rounds of bombardment claiming the lives of dozens of civilian victims.
