Şenyaşar family prevented from entering building of Ministry of Justice

Emine Şenyaşar and Green Left Party Riha MP Ferit Şenyaşar, who have been seeking justice for their killed relatives, were prevented from entering the building of Turkey’s Ministry of Justice today.

Riha- Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of former AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in Pirsûs (Turkish: Suruç) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018 and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, also Green Left Party Riha MP, held a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse for 855 days.

Then, they began to seek justice for their killed relatives in Ankara; they have been seeking justice in Ankara for eight days. Today, they held a march from the Dikmen Gate of the Turkish Parliament to the building of Turkey’s Ministry of Justice although police tried to prevent them from marching.

The request of the Şenyaşar family to meet the Justice Minister was rejected and the family was prevented from entering the building of the Ministry of Justice.

Yesterday, the Şenyaşar family met with Mustafa Köroğlu, head of the Ankara Bar Association, Eren Keskin, head of the Human Rights Association (IHD) and Nuray Çevirmen, Executive Board Member of the IHD.
