 News Center — The fate of university student Clistan Doku, who disappeared on January 5, 2020, while studying in her second year in the Child Development Department at Munzur University, remains shrouded in mystery.

Despite six years having passed since her disappearance without any tangible progress in the investigation, the case witnessed a notable development in recent hours after a wide-ranging arrest campaign that included 13 people in several Turkish cities.

The arrests came within the framework of the ongoing investigation since 2020, where arrest warrants were issued for 13 suspects. Simultaneous raids were carried out in Istanbul, Ankara, Dersim, Antalya, and Elazığ, all resulting in the detention of the wanted individuals.

Among the detainees are prominent names: Mustafa TüRKAY SÜNEL, the son of the former governor of Tunceli, Tuncay SÜNEL, in addition to Zeynal ABAKAROV, who is considered the main suspect in the case and the last person Clistan Doku contacted before her disappearance.

  • Engin YÜCER: A former police officer and Zeynal's stepfather.
  • Cemile YÜCER: Zeynal's mother.
  • Uğurcan AÇIKGÖZ: Friend of the former governor's son.
  • Şükrü EROĞLU: The bodyguard of Governor Tuncay SÜNEL during the period of Clistan Doku's disappearance.
