Qamishlo- In an interview with NuJINHA, Ayşe Hîso, member of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Assembly in Aleppo, commented on the current situation and political developments in North and East Syria and the agreements on the region.

‘The system of the AANES is based on the solidarity of the people’

 “The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) is a system providing a solution to the current situation in Syria,” Ayşe Hîso said, “This system has put self-defense into practice. However, this system has not been locally and internationally recognized because hegemonic powers do not want a system based on the solidarity, power and unity of the people. For this reason, the AANES has been recently subjected to attacks. The Turkish state and all groups supporting the Syrian government have joined hands against this system.”

‘The unity of people won in Deir ez-Zor’

Ayşe Hîso noted that the ongoing Turkish attacks on the region prevent the solution for the conflict in Syria, “The Turkish state plans to conduct new operations on North and East Syria. The Turkish state occupied many areas by signing agreements with the opposition and conducting military operations. The role of the Turkish state in the resolution of the Syrian crisis is a negative role. Since 2011, the Turkish state has blocked the ways of solution by playing a negative role. Everyone knows that the aim of the Turkish state is to revive the Ottoman Empire.”

‘Silence legitimizes the crimes of the Turkish state in the occupied areas’

Emphasizing that the people living in the occupied areas are subjected to rights violations, she said, “Crimes are committed in the occupied areas, people face oppression and the demographic structures of the region are changed. In addition, there are attacks on nature and animals. Despite the crimes committed by the Turkish state in the occupied areas, there is a silence against these crimes. This silence legitimizes the crimes of the Turkish state in the occupied areas.”

‘Women will resist the attacks’

Speaking about recent drone attacks targeting especially women, she said, “Equality, justice and democracy are ensured by women. They are afraid of the strong will of women because the women's revolution will reveal the truth of the hegemonic system. Women will resist attacks just as they have been strugglng, protecting their achievements and system until now.”

‘We should make more efforts’

Calling on the people of North and East Syria to unite, Ayşe Hiso said, “The people of North and East Syria have made great efforts to build an ethical and fair system. However, we should make more efforts. We should unite.”
