Murder trial of Narin Güran: Prosecutor demands aggravated life sentences for 4 people
A Turkish prosecutor has demanded aggravated life sentences for four defendants in the murder trial of eight-year-old Narin Güran, whose dead body was found in Amed on September 8, 2024.
Amed- 8-year-old Narin Güran went missing in the Çûlî (Tavşantepe) village of Amed’s Rezan (Bağlar) district on August 21, 2024. Her dead body was found in a sack in a stream near her home after 19 days, on September 8.
The prosecutor has demanded aggravated life sentences for four defendants, including Narin Güran’s uncle Salim Güran, her mother Yüksel Güran, her brother Enes Güran and her neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, Nahit Eren, one of the lawyers following the murder trial, announced on Friday.
“Today, the Public Prosecutor has submitted his opinion in the murder trial of Narin held at the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court,” the lawyer said. “The prosecutor demands four defendants be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for murder in the first degree.”
The next hearing of the murder trial will be held on December 26, 2024.
