Abusive man rewarded with impunity

Man named M.A.A., who inflicted violence against her wife, has been rewarded with impunity. A court first reduced the prison sentence demanded against the man for “his good behavior” and sentenced him to 150 days in prison and then released him on bail.

News Center - Woman named A.K.A., who lives in the Iskenderun district of Hatay province of Turkey, objected to the prison sentence against her husband M.A.A. for “actual bodily harming”. The man stood trial again.

The final hearing of the trial was held by the Iskenderun 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance. The court sentenced him to 120 days in prison for “good behavior” while in custody and deferred the announcement of the verdict.

But the perpetrator inflicted violence against his wife again and tried to kill her. In response, the woman objected to the court decision and got a restraining order.

The Iskenderun 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance reversed the judgment and the perpetrator stood trial again. A.K.A., defendant M.A.A., and their lawyers attended the hearing. M.A.A. rejected the accusations against him and demanded his release.

The prosecutor demanded the defendant be punished for “deliberately injuring his wife”. The court sentenced M.A.A. to 150 days in prison. The man has been released on bail.
