“Hêza” wins award at Druk International Film Festival

“Hêza”, a documentary film about a Yazidi woman who had been enslaved by ISIS in Shengal during the genocide against Yazidis on August 3, 2014, wins the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Druk International Film Festival (DIFF).

News Center- Hêza”, a documentary film directed and produced by Derya Deniz wins the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Druk International Film Festival (DIFF) held in Bhutan, a country in South Asia. This is the second award won by the documentary. It previously won the best documentary feature at the Boden International Film Festival.

The documentary is about a Yazidi woman who had been enslaved during the attack of ISIS on Shengal that started on 3 August 2014. It tells what she’d lived through at the hands of ISIS, how she managed to escape, and how she carried on with her life after her escape.
