Parastou Forouhar wins Gabriele Münter Prize 2025

Parastou Forouhar, Iranian installation artist living and working in Germany, has won Gabriele Münter Prize 2025.

News Center- Parastou Forouhar, Iranian installation artist living and working in Germany, has won Gabriele Münter Prize 2025.

The artist received the prize at an award ceremony held in Germany on Monday.

The Gabriele Münter Prize named after the painter Gabriele Münter, one of the most important artists of modernism, aims to promote and recognize the achievements of female visual artists and make the outstanding achievements of contemporary female visual artists visible.

At the award ceremony, Parastou Forouhar said that the Gabriele Münter Prize is of great importance to her “as a woman and an artist” and also “as an immigrant, an exile, an asylum seeker”.
