Latifa Ahmadi, Afghan political activist has released a message condemning the assassination of Kurdish politician Firyal Silêman Xalid. “I was shocked when I heard that Feryal Silêman Xalid had been killed. Unfortunately, the oppressive regimes in Iran, Turkey, Syria, and Iraq take the lives of Kurdish fighters every day by labelling them as terrorists. Even though the people of Kurdistan have been targeted, murdered and assassinated, they never stop fighting; they are getting stronger and they struggle against oppression and tyranny. For about half a century, the brave people of Kurdistan have been fighting while they have been oppressed. But no oppression can extinguish the torch of Kurdish women’s demand for freedom.``

‘We are in solidarity’

In the message, Latifa Ahmadi pointed out that Afghan women were in solidarity with the Kurdish women. “As Afghan women, we share the same fate with the Kurdish women. Afghan women are always in solidarity with the Kurdish women. I believe that Kurdistan will be free and unified one day by overthrowing these oppressive systems. I hope the Kurdish Freedom Movement will achieve victory! I hope the Akhunds and Mullahs in Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Syria and other parts of the world will be defeated!”
