The Mothers of Laleh Park issued a statement declaring support for the nationwide uprising in Iran. “We will fight all kinds of dictatorship for freedom, liberty and social justice,” they wrote.
News Center -While the popular uprising that sparked in Rojhilat and Iran following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini continues, the women’s struggle for freedom with the slogan “Jin Jiyan Azadi” has spread all over the world. The Mothers of Laleh Park, also known as Mourning Mothers, issued a statement declaring support for the nationwide uprising in Rojhilat and Iran. “We are determined to fight all kinds of dictatorship and discrimination for freedom, liberty and social justice,” the mothers said in the statement.
“Even now, we witness mass protests of Kurdish and Baloch fighters and the bloody and brutal repression of the government against protesters in the streets and hospitals and cities such as Javanrud, Mahabad, Sanandaj, Bukan, Kamyaran, Piranshahr, Paveh, Saqez, Divandareh, Baneh, Dehgolan, Qorveh and other cities,” the statement said.
“We, as the Mothers of Laleh Park, want freedom against dictatorship, and the elimination of all forms of discrimination and injustice by chanting the slogan, ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadi’.”
The statement also includes demands of the mothers. The demands of the mothers are as follows:
“* All political prisoners must be immediately released.
*All inhuman practices such as lashing, execution, assassination, torture and stoning must end.
*We demand that the commanders and perpetrators of all crimes committed by the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran be tried and punished by public and fair courts.
*People must have the right to freedom of expression.
* Women must be free to decide what they wear and have the right to control their own body.
* We want to use our right to assemble and express our views through protest.
* We want to have equal citizenship rights and demand the elimination of all forms of discrimination.
* We demand the separation between religion and government.”
The Mothers of Laleh Park, also known as the Mourning Mothers, are a group of Iranian women whose spouses or children were killed by government agents in the protests following the disputed Iranian presidential election of 2009. The group also includes relatives of victims of earlier human rights abuses, including mass executions during the 1980s.
