Families of prisoners: We want peace and justice
On the 380th day of the Justice Watch, the families of prisoners stating that some prisoners are not released despite having served 30 years in prison, said, “There is no justice in this country.”
Amed - The Justice Watch started by the families of prisoners demanding the release of sick prisoners and the prisoners, who are not released despite having completed their sentences, has entered its 380th day.
Today, the families gathered in front of the Diyarbakır Courthouse to demand justice for sick prisoners and the prisoners, who are not released despite having served more than 30 years in prison. Today the families were supported by the members of the Association for Assistance to Prisoners' Families (TUAY-DER), the Association of Assistance, Solidarity, Unity and Culture with Families Losing Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilizations (MEBYA-DER), the Mesopotamia Language and Culture Research Association (MED-DER), the Human Rights Association (IHD) and the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP).
‘There is no justice in this country’
Reşahat Ada, one of the relatives of prisoners, made a speech in front of the courthouse. Demanding the implementation of laws, Reşahat Ada said, “Some prisoners are not released despite having served 30 years in prison. There are hundreds of sick prisoners; they want to receive treatment. There is no justice and life in this country. We want peace and justice. End this persecution now. Political parties must support us.”
