Green Left Party’s parliamentary candidate Kezban Konukçu detained along with 15 workers
Green Left Party’s parliamentary candidate Kezban Konukçu and 15 workers have been forcibly detained during the protest of the construction workers demanding their unpaid wages.
News Center- The members of the Union of Revolutionary Construction and Road Workers (DEV-YAP) working in the construction of the Istanbul Financial Center in Istanbul’s Ataşehir district held a protest in front of the building of the Emlak Konut GYO, the construction company, to demand their two unpaid wages.
Kezban Konukçu, a parliamentary candidate of the Green Left Party from Istanbul, participated in the protest to support the workers. Police surrounded protesters chanting slogans such as, “We will prevail by resisting” and “Construction workers are not slaves”. 15 workers and Kezban Konukçu, who wanted to meet with the authorities, were beaten and detained by police.
