Gaza: Israeli airstrikes kill over 20 civilians, including aid recipients

More than 20 people, including women and children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes across multiple areas of Gaza, as military operations intensify in the north and south, forcing widespread displacement.

News Center- The Israeli forces continue what many observers describe as a campaign of mass violence in Gaza, now in its 697th day, with daily airstrikes destroying civilian homes and worsening the humanitarian crisis affecting over two million people amid severe food shortages.

The Gaza Civil Defense reported on Tuesday, September 2, that the strikes on residential buildings claimed over 20 lives, including five people waiting for humanitarian aid. Yesterday’s attacks killed at least 31 civilians, more than half of them women and children, amid continued assaults on major Gaza cities, according to medical sources.

Observers have accused Israel of committing acts of mass violence, including potential war crimes, though Israel has denied the allegations.

In southern Gaza, several injured were hospitalized after an Israeli strike hit a tent sheltering displaced people in Khan Yunis. In northern Gaza, Israeli forces conducted one of the fiercest operations since the conflict began, including air raids, artillery shelling, and drone strikes, destroying homes and displacing hundreds of families. Additional demolitions occurred in Jabalia.

The Gaza Ministry of Health reports that since the war began on October 7, 2023, more than 63,557 people have been killed and 160,660 injured. Among the victims are 2,294 aid recipients and over 16,839 injured, while deaths from starvation have reached 349, including 127 children.
