Emine Şenyaşar calls on women: Come and see this oppression
The sit-in protest held by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 338th day. Today, Emine Şenyaşar calls on all women to go there and see the oppression they face.
Riha- The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out on June 14, 2018, in Suruç by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has continued on its 338th day today. Emine Şenyaşar, who couldn’t come in front of the courthouse yesterday due to her health problems, came in front of the courthouse today carrying the scarf knitted by the Saturday Mothers for her in order to demand justice for her killed relatives.
Underlining that they have held their protest under oppression, Emine Şenyaşar said, “All women, particularly women parliamentarians should come and see the ongoing oppression in front of the Urfa Courthouse. They should witness what we have faced. Those who killed my children are free now but I have demanded justice in front of the courthouse for a year.” Emine Şenyaşar also demanded the release of her son Fadıl Şenyaşar, who has been held in prison for more than three years.
“The mother's (Emine Şenyaşar’s) struggle for justice in Şanlıurfa is a matter of honor in this country. Hundreds of people witnessed that the AKP MP and his family committed a massacre at the hospital. You cannot darken the sun!” the Şenyaşar family posted on their social media account today.
