Call for arrest of Musa Sevim, murderer of Meryem
Musa Sevim shot and killed Meryem Sevim in a café in Diyarbakır. He fled the scene. The family of Meryem Sevim calls for his arrest.

Amed- Musa Sevim shot and killed Meryem (Helin) Sevim in the Diclekent areas of Diyarbakır’s Kayapınar district on November 12. After the murder, the perpetrator Musa Sevim fled the scene.
Meyrem’s family and friends call for the arrest of the perpetrator.
The perpetrator has not been arrested yet
While Meryem died at the scene, Musa Sevim fled and has not been arrested yet. The Diyarbakır Bar Association Women's Rights Center members visited Meryem’s family and said that they would follow the case. NuJINHA interviewed Hülya Kurmuş, sister of Meryem Sevim. Hülya Kurmuş demands the arrest of Musa Sevim. Stating that her sister had been threatened by the perpetrator Musa Sevim for almost a year before she was killed, Hülya Kurmuş said that Musa Sevim has been accused of many other crimes, “Despite that, he was released from prison.”
Hülya Kurmuş continued to speak as follows:
“This man named Musa threatened my sister to kill her if she did not marry him. When my sister rejected, he shot and killed her. Everything happened in a year. There was a man who loved Meryem; however, Musa Sevim shot him in his leg. He always threatened my sister. My sister came to my home in Antalya to flee from his threats. She stayed with me for a while. When she was in Antalya, she told me, ‘This man is not the one for me. He previously beat someone to death.’ Musa Sevim has been accused of many other crimes.”
“Murderers are easily released from prison”
Calling for the arrest of the perpetrator, Hülya Kurmuş said that they are not relatives of the perpetrator. “He threatened and killed my sister. I told my sister to protect her; however, I could not. My sister resisted that murderer. She resisted violence and threats. He convinced her and took her to that café. He killed my sister after asking her, ‘Is that your last decision?’ This man has not been arrested yet. He must be immediately arrested. Murderers are easily released from prison. Don’t allow other mothers to suffer. This man must be arrested before he hurts other people.”
