Arab-Kurdish Dialogue Conference held in Lebanon

The Arab-Kurdish dialogue conference focusing on the role of women in democratizing societies held in Beirut on May 29.

Beirut – Yesterday (May 29), the Lebanese Center for Research and Consultation held a conference called “Arab-Kurdish Dialogue Conference in Beirut with the motto, "Towards Coexistence and Equal Citizenship” in cooperation with the Jin Women’s Association, Newroz Cultural and Social Association and Mousawat Association-Wardeh Boutros for Women's Work.

The conference consisted of two sessions. The first session started at 10:30 with the title, “The history of Kurdish-Arab relations and the Kurdish presence in Lebanon, history and the present, colonial policies and regional interventions, the influence of the mentality and tools of the nation-state on Arab-Kurdish relations”

The colonial policy, regional interventions, and the impact of nation-state ideology and mechanisms of Arab-Kurdish relations were discussed during the conference aiming to find ways to strengthen relations between Kurds and Arabs in light of common challenges and threats.

The second session focused on the critical role of women in democratizing societies. The session included many topics such as solidarity and unity of destiny among peoples in the face of challenges, culture of coexistence and fraternity of peoples.

After the sessions, the conference ended with solutions and recommendations for the citizenship state and the democratic nation project.
