Kabul- After the Taliban took the control of Afghanistan, women have been deprived of education and denied economic liberty. Afghan women take to the streets every week to draw attention to the ongoing rights violations, unemployment, and poverty in the country since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. This week, Afghan women called on the international community and said, “History is ashamed of your silence.” The women holding banners reading, “Women, Life, Freedom, Democracy”, “Why does the world remain silent?”, “Right to education” and “We demand our right to work” shouted slogans during their protest.
Male journalists were prevented from taking footage
Male journalists, who tried to cover the protest, were prevented from taking footage of the protest. The march of the women ended in front of the UN Kabul Office. The women called on the international community and said, “We are facing a great tragedy in front of the whole world and we do not want to tolerate this silence anymore. Why does the world remain silent? History is ashamed of your silence.”

Last week, journalists covering the women’s protest were attacked by the Taliban forces and women carried out their protest despite all obstacles.
