“635 human trafficking victims were reported in Tunisia in 2021” report says
A total of 635 human trafficking victims were reported in Tunisia in 2021, according to the 2021 Trafficking in Persons Report released by the National Anti-Trafficking Commission.
News Center- The National Anti-Trafficking Commission in Tunisia has released its 2021 Trafficking in Persons Report. A total of 635 human trafficking victims were reported in 2021, 417 of them were Ivory Coast citizens (64%), the report said.
Tunisia is used as a transit country
According to the report, the majority of foreign victims hailed from Sub-Saharan Africa, specifically from Ivory Coast (80%). The report revealed that economic and social conditions in Sub-Saharan Africa make Tunisia a transit country in the migratory movement from Africa to Europe.
