13 people detained in Hakkari released

13 of 24 people, who were taken into custody in Colemêrg (Hakkari) have been released from custody after being questioned at the police station. 11 people are expected to be referred to the courthouse today.

Colemêrg (Hakkari)- On August 15, Turkish police raided many houses in Colemêrg (Hakkari) and its districts Gever (Yüksekova) and Çelê (Çukurca) in the morning. 24 people, 20 of them women, including members of the Peace Mothers’ Initiative, were taken into custody. 13 of them, who were taken into custody on charges of “membership in a terrorist organization” have been released from custody after being questioned at the police station.

The names of released people are: Yusuf Çobanoğlu, member of the Lawyers Association for Freedom (ÖHD) Colemêrg Branch, Fatma Bulut, Hünaf Safalı, Sabriye Ürek, Saadet Değirmenci, Duriye Bor, Seniha Geylan, Ayhan Dayan, Emine Özdel, Mahsume Akın, Münire Bayram, Hafset Fendik, Hevidar Shaban Ali and Faysal Açar.

The names of 11 people, who are expected to be referred to the courthouse today, are: Basri Gür, Emine Özdemir, Feride Ağrali, Hamail Vural, Seher Karagöz, Süheyla Saygı, Zahferan Çağala, Zeynep Tokçu, Kafiye Canan, İsmail Ertunç and Halime Yılmaz.
