At least 28 civilians were killed in Sudan due to two drone strikes that targeted the states of North Darfur and North Kordofan, according to medical sources reported on Thursday, March 26, marking a new escalation of violence sweeping wide areas of the country.
According to medical sources in North Darfur state, one of the strikes targeted a crowded market in the city of Saraf Omra, killing 22 people, including an infant, and injuring 17 others with varying wounds. A member of the medical teams stated that the victims arrived in critical condition, noting that the death toll is expected to rise due to the severity of the injuries.
In North Kordofan state, another strike caused a fire to break out in a truck traveling on a main road. A medical source at a hospital in the city of Ar Rahad reported the arrival of six bodies, three of which were completely charred, in addition to ten injured individuals. The medical source held the Rapid Support Forces responsible for the attack, amidst the absence of an official comment from the warring parties.
