Begüm Ateş gives free self-defense courses for women to struggle with increasing violence, harassment, and gendered attitudes and to feel their power. Begüm says there is no other way out than relying on our own power. She emphasizes that we have to rely on our own power, the power of women and our class, both for individual and collective self-defense movements and for women's freedom.
