“The law was passed by the parliament but hasn’t been implemented yet”

Feride Şengali, Coordinator of the Yazidi Women Support Network, says the law was passed by the Iraqi parliament but hasn’t been implemented yet.

“Since this law was passed by the members of the Iraqi Parliament, nothing has been done for the implementation of the law. The law remains only on paper. Only NGOs support the survivors. The Iraqi government hasn’t done anything yet. They went to Shengal only before the elections to get votes. They said they would implement the law but they haven’t implemented it yet.”
