Killer of Emine Karakaş, his sister face life sentence

The indictment against Aslan Karakaş, who killed Emine Karataş, and his sister Münevver Karakaş has been prepared. In the indictment, the prosecution demands a life sentence for the perpetrator and his sister. The first hearing will be held on November 15.

Amed - On February 4, Aslan Karakaş (34) shot and seriously wounded 16-year-old Emine Karakaş, who refused to marry him, in the Bismil district of Diyarbakır province. Emine Karakaş lost her life on June 21 after being held in the intensive care unit of Diyarbakır Dicle Hospital for months. Aslan Karakaş surrendered to police on February 15 and was sent to prison. The investigation launched into the incident was completed and an indictment has been prepared against Aslan Karakaş and his sister Münevver Karakaş on charges of “Purposely killing a child”. In the indictment, the prosecution demands a life sentence for the perpetrator and his sister.

According to reports received from lawyers, the prosecution demands a life sentence against Münevver Karakaş to help her brother to kill Emine Karakaş. While the perpetrator has been jailed awaiting trial, his sister Münevver Karakaş has been released awaiting trial by the court. According to the indictment, Emine Karataş was shot three times.

Her mother had to leave her village

Nurcan Karataş, the mother of Emine Karataş, had to leave her village in June due to the death threats by the perpetrator and his relatives. "I will surrender to police after killing you;” the perpetrator reportedly threatened Nurcan Karataş. “The perpetrator should be severely punished. My daughter was only a child and they killed her. As a mother, I just demand justice. I had to leave my village to protect my other daughter.”
