Halise Aksoy sentenced to more than 6 years in prison on terrorism charges

Halise Aksoy, who stood trial over the statements of a witness named Ümit Akbıyık, has been sentenced to six years and three months in prison on charges of “Membership in a (terrorist) organization”.

News Center- The final hearing of the trial against Halise Aksoy, was arrested on April 28, 2023 over the statements of a witness named Ümit Akbıyık after her son’s, Agit Ipek, bones were delivered to her by post in a box, was held at the Diyarbakır 10th High Criminal Court on Friday.

Halise Aksoy did not attend the hearing while her lawyers Zeynep Karayılan and Necat Çiçek were present at the hearing. The prosecution submitted its opinion, requesting Halise Aksoy to be sentenced to prison on charges of “Membership in a (terrorist) organization”.

Her lawyers Zeynep Karayılan and Necat Çiçek denied all accusations against their client, demanding the release of Halise Aksoy.
