Rapist’s father: Why was the girl there at that hour?

During the case, Sercan B. denied the rape attack while his lawyer argued that the woman had given consent. During the second hearing of the rape trial, Sercan B. was released by the court pending the trial. His father, who attended the hearing as a witness, tried to legitimize rape saying, “Our children come home before the evening prayer. Why was the girl there at that hour?”

Court reduces prison sentence!

On September 20, The Mardin 4th Criminal Court sentenced Sercan B. to 12 years in prison for “raping” a woman. However; the court reduced the prison sentence to 10 years in prison because Sercan B. “maintained good behavior” during the trial.

The lawyer of the woman objected to the court decision. The lawyer pointed out that his client was accused while she was the victim. Stating that the court always tried to find evidence in order to release Sercan B., the lawyer said that they would not be surprised if Sercan B. was acquitted despite the medical reports.
