Growing oyster mushrooms and making products from them, Nagham Ghattas provides employment to many women now.

First project in Gaza

By growing oyster mushrooms and making products from them, Nagham Ghattas has become the first person developing such a project in the Gaza Strip.  “Actually, my first project was growing pumpkin seeds and making products from them. Then, I decided to grow mushrooms and make products from them because mushrooms have high protein and improve human health.”

She wants to provide employment to more women

Now, many women work with Nagham Ghattas in her workshop. She said, “We make medical and cosmetic products from mushrooms. I want to expand this business in order to provide employment to more women and girls in the Gaza Strip.”
