Sulaymaniyah- Turkey continues to carry out attacks on the Kurdistan Region. The Turkish army has reportedly entered a depth of 50 km into the territory of the Kurdistan Region. We spoke to some people of Sulaymaniyah about the ongoing Turkish attacks on their territory.

“We must protect our region”

Underlining that the Kurds should be loyal to their land and nation, Heyat Osman said, “The Turkish state wants to invade our land. The Kurdish people should take to the streets in order to protest the Turkish attacks. The invaders have an eye to our region because our region is a rich region. Our people must protect the region by putting pressure on the government.”

“Occupation must be prevented”

Stating that the Kurdistan territory was liberated by martyrs, Pirşang Celal said, “The sovereigns in this region easily surrender their lands to the enemy. The Kurdistan Regional Government and ruling parties should think of their own people first. They must break their silence against the attacks. The occupation of Başûrê Kurdistan must be prevented.”

Young people leave the region

Speaking about the crises in the Kurdistan Region, Bedie Mecîd said, “Every day, many young people leave the region; they go to other countries because of the economic crisis, the lack of the security and the attempts of the enemy to occupy the region. However, the government remains silent against this.”
