Najwa Ghanem tells women's fears in her book “Wings of Fear”

Palestinian author Najwa Ghanem did a book signing for her book “Wings of Fear” telling the tragedy of Palestinian women and children. The book signing event attracted great attention.

Gaza- Author Najwa Ghanem did a book signing in the Gaza Strip for her book “Wings of Fear” telling the stories of Palestinian women and children under siege. The book is a short story collection.

At the book signing, Najwa Ghanem stated that there are 38 stories in her book that focus on the stories of Palestinian women and children. “The Wings of Fear was published in Ramallah in 2012. This is the second edition of the book. My book tells the stories of Palestinian women and children, who face the Israeli occupation, the patriarchal culture, child marriage, and violations of their rights to life and education. I chose “Wings of Fear” for the title of my book to emphasize the fears of women because they are subjected to violence, torture, and murder every day. My aim in writing this book is to be the voice of women,” she said.

Palestinian poet and literary critic Amal Abu Assi attended the book signing event of Najwa Ghanem, Stating that the book “Wings of Fear is a short story collection being enriched with the stories of women, she said, “This short story collection is a great contribution to the Arab literature and a stance to support women. All women are not poets, writers, and storytellers and they need someone to tell their stories. Women’s issues should be mentioned in all literary works to be solved.”

“It reflects the reality of Palestinian society”

Palestinian poet and writer Yusra al-Khatib also attended the event. Stating that Najwa Ghanem always focuses on women’s issues in her books, Yusra Al-Khatib said that Wings of Fear reflects the reality of Palestinian society.
