Kobanê - The 2nd Arîn Bisk and Zilfên Aştiyê Theater Festival, which kicked off in Kobanê on October 5, on the 8th death anniversary of YPJ fighter Arin Mirkan, with the motto, “Little Hope Here Should be Disclosed,” continues with theater performances and various activities. Last evening, on the 8th day of the festival, the “Kontîner” theater play was performed at the festival by the members of the Culture and Art Center in Aleppo. The theater play is about the general situation of Afrin, where is under the control of the Turkish state and what the women of Afrin have been faced after the occupation.

“Every year, we will welcome the festival with the same spirit”

One of the audiences, Ronahî Kenan told NuJINHA that the people of Kobanê look forward to watching theater performances every year. “This festival is the source of pride for the people of Kobanê. The festival was named after YPJ fighter Arîn and it is held on her death anniversary. This festival reminds the resistance of Kobanê, the struggle and the will of the Kurdish women. Every year, we will welcome the festival with the same spirit and joy.”

“It is about the inhuman practice against the women of Afrin face”

Speaking about the "Kontîner" theater play, Zeyneb Cuma, a member of the Culture and Art Center in Aleppo, said, “Last year, we also displayed our performance at this festival. Today, we performed the Kontîner theater play. The play is about the inhuman practices against women in Afrin, where is under the control of the Turkish state. In the theater play, I portrayed a woman, who returns to Afrin with her husband. They live in a container but there is no security, no peace and no dignified life. Every day, they face inhuman practices. The aim of this theater play is to show what is happening in our occupied areas.”
