7 women artists hold art exhibition in Ranya

Seven women artists held an art exhibition in Sulaymaniyah’s Ranya town with the motto, “Women lead the struggle for freedom.”

Ranya- Seven women artists held an art exhibition in Sulaymaniyah’s Ranya town to mark the International Women’s Day. At the exhibition held with the motto, “Women lead the struggle for freedom”, 27 paintings and seven ceramic works of the women were displayed.

Rêzan Hemîd Mistefa, a painter and head of the Ranya Women Painters group, was one of the women artists who displayed their artistic works at the exhibition. Stating that they hold an exhibition every year to mark the International Women’s Day, Rêzan Hemîd Mistefa said, “We have held seven art exhibitions this year.” She also called on women to resist the patriarchal mentality.

Artist Wirud Seramik displayed her seven ceramic works at the exhibition. “I have participated in this exhibition to show the tragedy experienced by women, how women are forced to burn themselves, and how they are deprived of their rights and freedoms,” Wirud Seramik said.
