26th Flying Broom International Women Films Festival to kick off on May 31
The 26th Flying Broom International Women Films Festival will kick off on May 31 with the motto, “More, Not Less”. At the festival, 64 films from many countries will be screened.
News Center- The 26th Flying Broom International Women Films Festival will kick off at the Büyülü Fener Kızılay Movie Theater in Ankara on May 31 with the motto, “More, Not Less”. At the festival, 64 films from many countries will be screened.
The festival will be held with the cooperation of many organizations and institutions such as Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, Çankaya Municipality, Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, Goethe Institute, French Cultural Center and Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts. The embassies of Austria, Denmark, Canada, Luxembourg and Mexico in Ankara also support the festival.
The tickets for the films will go on sale online (www.biletinial.com) at the Büyülü Fener Kızılay Movie Theater on May 27.
Free tickets for students
The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality will provide 1.000 free tickets for students. Students will be able to get free tickets every day at 11 am.
Award ceremony
The names who win the Honor, Success and Young Witch awards at the Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival will receive their awards at the award ceremony to be held on May 31.
Films to be screened at the festival
At the festival, 64 films from many countries will be screened. Some of them are: Çekmeceler, 2015 (English: Drawers) starring Tilbe Saran; Toz Bezi, 2015 (English: Dust Cloth) starring Asiye Dinçsoy; Ela ile Hilmi ve Ali, 2022 (English: Ela & Hilmi and Ali); Cehennem Boş, Tüm Şeytanlar Burada, 2022 (English: Hell is Empty, All the Devils Are Here); Saint Omer, 2022 French legal drama film directed by Alice Diop; Joanna Hogg directed by Joanna Hogg.
“Ingeborg Bachmann - Journey into the Desert” directed by Margarethe von Trotta will be screened on the first day of the festival. “20,000 Species of Bees”, a 2023 Spanish drama film written and directed by Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren, will also be screened at the festival.
