Bedriye Doku wants to know what happened to her daughter

I ask myself where my daughter is,” Gülistan Doku’s mother Bedriye Doku said, “I demand only one thing from all prosecutors or judges; reopen the investigation into the disappearance of my daughter. They should check the camera recordings. They should learn what happened to my daughter. I just want to know what happened to my daughter.”

Dersim – Gülistan Doku (21), a sophomore of Child Development at Munzur University, went missing in Dersim (Tunceli) province on January 5, 2020. Although two years have passed since her disappearance, nothing has been learned about her disappearance. On January 1, 2022, the family of Gülistan Doku started a sit-in protest in front of the Tunceli Courthouse to demand a complete investigation into Gülistan Doku's disappearance and legal consequences for those responsible.

She asks where her daughter is despite the freezing cold

Gülistan Doku’s mother Bedriye Doku has asked, “Where is Gülistan Doku” for two years. She has asked where her daughter is in front of the Tunceli Courthouse for 19 days despite the freezing cold weather.

Bedriye Doku has asked where her daughter is everywhere since her disappearance. Pointing out that her daughter was 21 years old when she went missing, Bedriye Doku said that they haven’t received any news from her daughter although there are surveillance cameras everywhere in the small city.

“I want to know what they did to my daughter”

Bedriye Doku reacted to the attitude of the authorities by saying, “My daughter couldn’t fly” and she said, “We want to know what they did to Gülistan. My daughter deserves to have a grave. No one supports or helps us to find my daughter. While we are sitting there (in front of the courthouse), prosecutors and judges pass in front of us, but no one asks us why this family is sitting here. We don’t shoot a movie there, we ask where Gülistan is.”

Stating that their life has turned into a nightmare since Gülistan went missing; Bedriye Doku said that she always thinks of her daughter. “God knows, whenever I lay my head on the pillow, my soul wanders on the mountains of Dersim. I ask myself where my daughter is. We become miserable.”

They will hold their protest in Ankara

Pointing out that the former Governor of Dersim, Tuncay Sonel, deceived them for a year, Bedriye Doku said that they waited on the bridge, where her daughter was last seen, for a year. “We started a sit-in protest in front of the courthouse to find out what happened to my daughter.” Bedriye Doku told us that they will keep holding their protest in front of the courthouse until January 20 and then they will hold their sit-in protest in front of the building of the Ministry of Justice in Ankara.

Bedriye Doku told us that she demands only one thing from all prosecutors or judges. “I demand only one thing from all prosecutors or judges; reopen the investigation into the disappearance of my daughter.
