Youth collect 1,000 signatures against ÇEDES
A platform formed by young people has collected 1,000 signatures against the appointment of religious officials to schools as “spiritual counselors” within the scope of the “I am Sensitive to My Environment, I Protect My Values Project (ÇEDES)” project.
News Center- Gençlik Devirecek Platformu, a platform formed by young people, has announced the end of the petition launched by the platform against the appointment of religious officials to schools in Izmir and Eskişehir as “spiritual counselors” within the scope of the “I am Sensitive to My Environment, I Protect My Values Project (ÇEDES)” project.
They collected 1,000 signatures in two weeks
Holding a press conference in front of the Karşıyaka Bazaar, the members of the platform said, “The AKP has shaped the education system according to its own ideology during its 21-year ruling. Children are entrusted to the sects with the protocols of the Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). Despite the persistent questions of Eğitim Sen (Teachers’ Union) to the Governor’s Office about what is the duty of the imams and religious officials, who have been appointed to schools as “spiritual counselors”, no statement has been released yet. The AKP government, which makes the education system unqualified in which education becomes only a dream for those who have no money, wants to make it a fait accompli.”
The signatures will be submitted to the Governor’s Office
“The persistence on the implementation of the project reveals the destruction created by the AKP government in society,” the statement said, “We do not accept the religionization of education by the government through religious communities and sects and the elimination of the education based on secularism and science.” Deniz Anur, who read the statement on behalf of the platform, said that they would submit the signatures to the Governor’s Office.
