Aleppo- The Young Women’s Union held a march in Aleppo to protest the Turkish attacks and the isolation imposed in Turkey’s prisons. The march started in front of the building of the Yazidis’ Center and ended at the Martyr Destina Square.

Thousands of young women attended the march and shouted slogans demanding the freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and condemning the ongoing Turkish attacks. After the march, Heval Hêva made a speech on behalf of the young women. In her speech, she drew attention to the aggravated isolation upon Abdullah Öcalan in Imrali prison. “We commemorate the martyrs of the Rojava Revolution, particularly Jiyan Tolhildan, and bow respectfully before their memories. We promise to protect the memories of our martyrs with the will and philosophy of leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan),” Heval Hêva said. In her speech, she also drew attention to the Turkish attacks in North and East Syria. “The occupying Turkish state targets and attacks our commanders, friends, people and land every day. Betrayal is never acceptable. Turkey should know very well that it will never break our free will and that we will continue to rebuild our lives according to the revolution no matter how much it aggravates the isolation imposed on leader Apo, and its attacks on the Kurdish people.”

After issuing a statement, the young women ended the protest by shouting slogans.
