Women hold marches in NE Syria

Thousands of women held marches in many cities of North and East Syria such as Qamishlo, Hasakah, Aleppo, Kobanê, Manbij, Raqqa and Tabqa to celebrate the International Women’s Day.

News Center- Thousands of women celebrated the International Women’s Day in many cities of North and East Syria such as Qamishlo, Hasakah, Aleppo, Kobanê, Manbij, Raqqa and Tabqa.

Qamishlo

Women held marches in Qamishlo city center and its towns such as Amuda, Çilaxa, Til Koçer, Dêrîk, Til Hemîs and Til Birak. The marchers often chanted the slogan, “Jin Jiyan Azadî (English: Women, Life, Freedom).

Hasakah

Women celebrated the International Women’s Day by holding marches in Hasakah and its towns such as al-Hol, Dirbespiyê, Til Temir and Zirgan.

Kobanê

In Kobanê, women held a march to celebrate the International Women’s Day. The marchers danced the halay and chanted slogans.

Manbij

Thousands of women participated in the march that started in front of the Fırat Hospital and ended on Wadî Street.

Aleppo

Women and men participated in a march started in front of the building of the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood. Wearing their traditional dresses, the women carried the posters of women fighters, who lost their lives while fighting for freedom.

Raqqa

A march was held in Raqqa with the participation of hundreds of women, members of military and NGOs organizations, the families of martyrs and members of political parties. The march started from Panorama Junction in the southwest of Raqqa. Carrying the posters of women fighters, who lost their lives while fighting for freedom and the posters of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Tabqa

A march was held in Tabqa with the participation of hundreds of women, members of military and NGOs organizations, the families of martyrs and members of political parties.
