Women celebrate International Workers' Day in Tehran, Karaj
Women celebrated International Workers’ Day in Tehran and Karaj by holding banners reading, “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (English: Women, Life, Freedom)”.
News Center- Women workers and activists gathered in Tehran and Karaj to celebrate the International Workers’ Day. They announced that they are in solidarity with the nationwide protests by holding banners reading, “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi (English: Women, Life, Freedom)”. Holding a demonstration, the women protested discrimination, poverty, executions, torture and the capitalist system's exploitation of the ecological system.
Chanting slogans such as “May 1 is the day of unity of women and all workers against discrimination and inequality”, “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” and “We will fight poverty, corruption and rising prices”, the women voiced their demands. The women also drew attention to the poisoning incidents at girls’ schools and vowed to struggle against oppression everywhere.
