Kütahya- In Turkey, 22 women died under suspicious circumstances in May 2023, according to the report released by the We Will Stop Femicide Platform (KCDP). The cases of suspicious death of women increase day by day. On May 5, Ayşe Örtmen was found seriously injured in her home located in the Simav district of Kütahya province. She allegedly tried to kill herself.  

 An investigation was launched into the incident. Ayşe Örtmen still receives treatment at a hospital in the province and she is in a critical condition.

She has been subjected to violence for years

 According to the relatives of Ayşe Örtmen, she has been subjected to systematic violence since she got married. Three years ago, Ayşe Örtmen, mother of one, married Faruk Örtmen. Since their marriage, she has been subjected to physical and psychological violence by Faruk Örtmen.

She struggles to survive at hospital

The relatives of Ayşe Örtmen told NuJINHA that Ayşe Örtmen would be transferred to a hospital in Amed (Diyarbakır) for treatment and that she still struggles to survive. The investigation launched in the incident continues.
