Deir ez-Zor- On August 27, 2023, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced in a press statement that it has launched a new operation called “Operation Security Reinforcement” against ISIS and similar armed groups in Deir ez-Zor.

Women of Deir ez-Zor believe that the aim of the recent clashes in the region is to undermine regional stability and sow discord among people. In an interview with NuJINHA, the women expressed their support for the operation launched by the SDF.

“Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing the fabricated clashes created by capitalist countries that are enemies of the rights and freedoms of the Syrian people. Their aim is to destroy the system based on democracy in North and East Syria. These attempts are aimed at undermining the security and stability of the North and East Syrian and sowing discord among people. We will not allow the enemies to divide us,” said Duha Al-Salih, Co-chair of the Legislative Council in Deir ez-Zor.

Duha Al-Salih noted that the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) opposes the policies of the ruling powers. “We stand by the SDF. We will show no tolerance to anyone who contributes to these conflicts and chaos. The only way to build a life we want is to gather around the AANES.”
