“We demand immediate release of Fatemeh Mashhadi”

More than 500 dentists in Iran have signed a statement demanding the “immediate” and “unconditional” release of Fatemeh Mashhadi Abbas, a dentist and professor at Beheshti University.

“Fatemeh Mashhadi Abbas is a strong academic figure, who stands in favor of peace and against violence, who has always stood up for the independence and rights of students. We demand the immediate and unconditional release of our colleague,” the statement said.

Fatemeh Mashhadi Abbas is a dentist and professor at Beheshti University. During the ongoing protests in Iran, she was taken into custody. After being held in custody for days, she was transferred to Evin prison.
