News Center- Iranian women still face legal harassment. Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran has sentenced Fatemeh Sepehri, a political activist, former prisoner and one of the signatories of Statement 14, to 18 years in prison while the Appeals Court of Ilam has upheld a two-year prison sentence against political activist Najjar Daoudi.

 Asghar Sepehri, brother of Fatemeh Sepehri, announced the prison sentence against his sister on his Twitter account yesterday. “My sister Fatemeh Sepehri has been sentenced to 18 years in prison by the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran. My sister has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges of “propaganda activities against the state” and to 5 years on charges of “cooperating with hostile countries”. She has been sentenced to two years in prison for insulting Khamenei and one year in prison for membership in opposition groups to disrupt national security,” the tweet said.

Fatemeh Sepehri was arrested on September 21, 2022 and taken to an unknown location after security agents raided her house.

 Court upholds the prison sentence against political activist Najjar Daoudi

 Six months have passed since the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi protests started in Rojhilat and Iran. Recently, many political prisoners have been released from prison in Iran. However, two-year prison sentence against political activist Najjar Daoudi (19) has been upheld by the Appeals Court of Ilam.
