Teachers take to streets in Federal Kurdistan

Contract teachers have taken to the streets across Federal Kurdistan Region for more than a week to demand their appointment from the government. Today, the contract teachers took the streets in Sulaymaniyah and many cities in the region to demand their appointment.

News Center- Contract teachers have taken to the streets across Federal Kurdistan Region for more than a week to demand their rights. Today, the contract teachers gathered in front of the building of the Kurdistan Region Parliament in Sulaymaniyah and they demanded to be appointed. In other cities of the region, contract teachers also took to the streets to protest the government.

On October 17, 20 MPs of the Kurdistan Region called for a meeting about the appointments of the contract teachers. In Kurdistan Region, there are 23000 contact teachers and they have been waiting for their appointment for more than five years. However, the government rejects the teachers' demands due to the financial crisis.
