News Center- A group of Iranian actors and film directors visited the families of jailed journalists Niloofar Hamedi and Elahe Mohammadi to be in solidarity with them.

Rakhshān Banietemad, Fatemeh Motamed-Arya, Mina Akbari, Mohammad Rasoulof, Jafar Panahi, Amir Taftani and Mojtaba Mirtahmasb were several of Iranian film directors and actors, who visited the families to be in solidarity with two journalists.

Since the nationwide protests started in Iran and Rojhilat following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini, Iranian actors and film directors have been supporting protesters, political prisoners and the families of those who were killed in protests.

Niloofar Hamedi broke the news that Jina Mahsa Amini was on life support in a Tehran hospital after being beaten while in police custody. She was arrested on September 21, 2022. On September 29, 2022, Elahe Mohammadi was arrested soon after reporting from Jina Mahsa Amini’s funeral in Saqqez.
