155 shops have been sealed in Iran for failure to comply with the mandatory hijab.
News Center- The Spokesperson of the Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced yesterday that they had sent an email to 532 shops to warn them as part of the so-called plan to deal with “bad hijab”. 137 shops and stores and 18 restaurants and tea gardens have been sealed in the country for failure to comply with the mandatory hijab.
The spokesperson said that they had sent 3,500 emails to the unions of small businesses and shopkeepers in 24 hours to comply with the mandatory hijab. “We carried out an inspection in 532 shops, stores, restaurants and tea gardens to see if they complied with the mandatory hijab. Our colleagues sealed 137 shops and stores and 18 restaurants and tea gardens for failure to comply with the mandatory hijab,” the spokesperson said, emphasizing that women who do not wear hijab in public spaces will be referred to judicial authorities.
Drivers are warned
The spokesperson also said that they had sent SMS to drivers, who did not comply with the mandatory hijab, “If they violate the mandatory hijab laws again, their cars will be seized.” According to the statement of the spokesperson, more than 84% of drivers in the country have been complying with the mandatory hijab. The Iranian regime has recently intensified crackdown on women. Despite these inspections, women go out without wearing hijab to protest the regime.
