Sit-in protest of Şenyaşar family enters its 658th day
The Şenyaşar family continue to demand justice despite the heavy rain.
Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç (Kurdish: Pirsûs) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 658th day.
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have held their sit-in protest in front of the courthouse to demand justice despite the heavy rain. Before coming in front of the courthouse, Emini Şenyaşar went to hospital and doctors told her that she has to undergo a surgery.
Ferit Şenyaşar emphasized that they will keep holding their protest until justice is delivered. Recalling the speech of Turkey’s President Erdoğan at the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ferit Şenyaşar said, “In his speech, he said that the state, unable to distribute justice, is doomed to collapse just like a rotten building. Everyone knows the injustice we face right now. He cannot say something about justice while justice is not delivered (in Turkey).”
‘The mother is determined to hold the sit-in’
“The state, unable to distribute justice, is doomed to collapse just like a rotten building. Since the scales of justice in Turkey are out of balance; the mother is determined to hold the sit-in protest for 658 days despite her health problems and bad weather conditions. She demands JUSTICE from the state,” the Şenyaşar family posted on their social media account today.
