Sit-in protest of Şenyaşar family continues on its 695th day
On the 695th day of their sit-in protest for justice, Emine Şenyaşar demanded the murderers be tried and asked, “Don't you have any conscience or mercy?”
Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç (Kurdish: Pirsûs) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 695th day.
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse in the morning and unfurled their banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family” to demand justice again.
‘They walk freely although they killed my family members’
Recalling that her son Fadıl Şenyaşar has been kept in a solitary cell for five years, Emine Şenyaşar said, “We will go home when my son is released (from prison). People across the country know that we have held a sit-in protest here. How will Erdoğan come here after two years of persecution against us? The murderers stay at their home. They walk freely although they killed my family members, my children. Don't you have any conscience or mercy?”
‘Enough is enough’
Emine Şenyaşar added, “Who killed my sons at the hospital? Who opened fire on them in the shop? My feet hurt, my eyes cannot see anymore. You also have a mother. Enough is enough. End this persecution.”
‘Those who committed the massacre are the AKP MP and his family’
Today’s social media post of the Şenyaşar family said, “No religions accept this injustice. Those who committed the massacre at the hospital are the AKP MP and his family. Four years have passed. Where are the judges and prosecutors who are independent in their duties...”
