Sibel Balaç transferred to hospital on 265th day of her indefinite hunger strike

Sibel Balaç went on an indefinite hunger strike 265 days ago for a fair trial. She has been transferred to the Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Training and Research Hospital for her health status assessment over the application of her lawyers.

News Center- Sibel Balaç, who has been kept in the Sincan Prison for three years, has been on an indefinite hunger strike for 265 days. The lawyers of the People's Law Office have applied to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to temporarily suspend the execution of the court judgment. After the lawyers’ application, Sibel Balaç has been transferred to the Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Training and Research Hospital for her health status assessment.

The lawyers reported that Sibel Balaç now weighs 41 kilos and suffers from chest pain, difficulty in walking, wounds in the mouth, and pain in her hands and feet due to nerve damage. Sibel Balaç’s family members and friends have been waiting outside of the hospital to learn more about her condition.

Sibel Balaç demands a fair trial, the release of the prisoners arrested based on “digital evidence” and suspicious anonymous witness statements and ill prisoners and an end to the rights violations and arbitrary disciplinary punishment in Turkey's prisons and unlimited access to books and magazines.
