Kabul- The Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA) was founded in Afghanistan in 1977 to be the voices of Afghan women and to fight for their rights. Since its foundation, the association has carried out activities to support poor and oppressed women and to empower women’s political participation. The RAWA is now known all around the world as an independent political and social organization of Afghan women. In an interview with NuJINHA, RAWA member Shahla Nasim spoke about the school poisonings in Iran.

Noting that they, as Afghan women, feel deeply the suffering of Iranian women, she said, “The bloodthirsty Iranian government has been killing young women and girls for years. Thousands of young men and women in Iran are held in the country's gruesome prisons. The demands of these people are clear; a free life. Iranian prisons are full of freedom seekers. We cannot expect anything else from this oppressive regime.”

Noting that Iranian and Afghan women and men should fight the misogynist and misanthropic mentality of fundamentalists, Shahla Nasim said, “We believe that that victory will be achieved through the struggle and resistance.”
