Security operation in al-Hol camp ends

The security operation launched in al-Hol camp on April 18, 2025 against ISIS sleeper cells has ended, the Internal Security Forces said in a statement on Wednesday.

News Center- The security operation launched in al-Hol camp on April 18, 2025 against ISIS sleeper cells has ended, the General Command of Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria said in a press statement on Wednesday.

On April 18, 2025, the Internal Security Forces and the Women's Internal Security Forces, with the support of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ), launched a security operation in al-Hol camp, “As part of ongoing efforts to ensure security and stability and to fight the growing threat posed by ISIS sleeper cells,” the statement said, announcing the end of the 6-day operation.

“The aim of the operation was to dismantle ISIS sleeper cells and ensure security inside and around the camp.”

During the 6-day security operation, 20 ISIS members and their collaborators were arrested and three Kalashnikov rifles, a pistol and other ammunition, and military equipment hidden inside a tent were seized, according to the statement.

“We affirm our full commitment to combating terrorism and exterminating it. There will be no safe space for terrorism and its supporters,” said the Internal Security Forces in the statement, calling on the international community to “fulfill its responsibilities about al-Hol camp and provide the necessary support to the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria to ensure security.”

Since 2021, the Internal Security forces have launched five security operations in the camp against ISIS sleeper cells.
