RJAK calls for boycotting Turkish goods

The Kurdistan Free Women's Movement (RJAK) has released a statement to mark the eighth anniversary of the genocide committed against the Yazidi community. In the statement, the RJAK calls for boycotting Turkish goods.

News Center- The Kurdistan Free Women’s Movement (Rêxistina Jinên Azad yên Kurdistanê-RJAK) has released a written statement to mark the eighth anniversary of the genocide committed against the Yazidi community by ISIS on August 3, 2014. “In 2014, ISIS attacked Shengal and killed thousands of Yazidi people, including women and children. The KDP forces and Iraqi forces fled from Shengal and left the Yazidi people unprotected,” the statement said.

“Thousands of citizens of Shengal were killed, sold in slave markets and many of them are still held captive by ISIS,” the statement said, stressing the ongoing Turkish attacks on Shengal, “Since 2014, many Yazidis leaders have been killed by the Turkish state. For this reason, we call on the Southern Kurdistan forces not to remain silent about these invasion attacks against Shengal and Southern Kurdistan. Not only Kurdish or Yazidi people are targeted in the Turkish attacks, but also all people of different nationalities are targeted. As RJAK, we call on the Kurdish people to boycott Turkish goods. Each Turkish product that we buy is a bomb aainst our people.”

The “No to the Turkish goods” campaign

 In the statement, the RJAK announced a campaign to boycott Turkish goods. “As RJAK, we promise to boycott Turkish goods on the anniversary of the genocide committed in Shengal. We have launched the ‘No to the Turkish goods’ campaign to protest the Turkish state for having killed nine civilians and injured 23 civilians, mostly Iraqi citizens, in Zakho. As the Iraqi citizens, we support the demand of our Arab friends and we say that the Turkish soldiers must withdraw from Iraq.”
